2013 CSCS User Meeting at Lucerne: videos online

On September 6th, CSCS held a special annual meeting with the user┬ácommunity at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Lucerne. We welcomed our 63 participants with a standing lunch before moving on with the program of the day. Director Thomas Schulthess opened the event with an “Update on CSCS, Piz Daint and PASC“, followed by Maria Grazia Giuffreda who presented the new CSCS challenge to the Swiss scientific community: the CHRONOS Call for proposals. After the coffee break, Sadaf Alam gave an overview of Piz Daint Programming Environment and Enabling Technologies, with a special focus on the similarities and differences of Piz Daint, the Cray XC30, and Monte Rosa, the Cray XE6. CSCS last presentation was “Training courses @CSCS”, Themis Athanassiadou shortly advertised the upcoming courses focused on the hybrid system and GPUs. The last hour of the meeting was an open discussion between CSCS and the User Community.
