The PRACE 8th Project Access Call for Proposals has been launched from 3 September to 15 October 2013.
In this call the entire PRACE Tier-0 Research Infrastructure is available:
- “Curie”, Bull Bullx cluster (GENCI@CEA, France)
- “Fermi”, IBM Blue Gene/Q (CINECA, Italy)
- “Hermit”, Cray XE6 (GCS@HLRS, Germany)
- “JUQUEEN”, IBM Blue Gene/Q (GCS@Jülich, Germany)
- “MareNostrum”, IBM System X iDataplex (BSC, Spain)
- “SuperMUC”, IBM System X iDataplex (GCS@LRZ, Germany)
Allocations will be for 1 year starting from early March, 2014. The call is targeted at individual researchers as well as multi-national research groups, asking for resources on a single or multiple machines. It targets large-scale, computationally intensive projects that would not be possible or productive without access to PRACE resources.
All applications will be evaluated against the highest peer-review standards. Applications must demonstrate scientific excellence, include elements of novelty, transformative aspects and have a recognized scientific impact.
Applications for Project Access must use codes that have been previously tested and that demonstrate high scalability and optimization to multi-core architectures or that demonstrate a requirement for ensemble simulations that need a very large amount of CPU overall.
